IAP is governed by a non executive Board of Directors, which is being advised and supported by an Advisory Council. The day to day administration of the organisation is overseen by a Management Committee headed by the Executive Director. The organisation has a full time staff of six and 16 “associates” or volunteers, including lawyers, journalists, researchers and academics. Currently, the Board has five members including an executive director: Professor Olabode Adeosun, Mrs. Moyo Olalandu, Mr. Babatunde Olugboji and Mr. Temitope Johnson. Mr. Adedeji Adeleye is the Executive Director.
IAP also has three Committee of Volunteers (CVs) headed by experienced professionals. The Committees are those of Governance, Human Rights & Democracy, Research & Training, and the Media. Dr. Paul Martins, Senior Scholar at Centre for the Study of Human Rights at Columbia University, New York, Mr. Sylvester Akhaine Odion, Executive Director, Centre for Constitutionalism and Demilitarisation, Nigeria, Mrs Abiola Akiyode Afolabi, executive director, Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre, Nigeria and Ms Chantal Uwimana an international anti corruption consultant and former acting Regional Director, Africa and Middle East at the International Secretariat of Transparency International serve as advisers to the organisation.
